Pros: Most fun of any slideshow software on the market, bar none. This is the one pro photographers use, because they want to focus on the photography and have the slideshows simple and fast to produce.

Cons: Minor quibbles only.

Review:
First things first: this is not a Powerpoint wannabee nor is it a full-featured video editor. What it is is the best slideshow software hands down, and I've tried them all. Photodex makes Proshow Gold for consumers and Producer for pros. The reason it's the best is that they put the most important features close at hand and the workflow is very smooth. Let's face it, when you're making a slideshow, the things that matter most are pan and zoom, cropping, simple photo editing, great-looking captions and transitions, and the ability to drop in a soundtrack and have it line up with the photos. Most of all, the reason I like it, is that it's a blast to use. Have you tried Vegas or Pinnacle to make a slideshow lately? It's a tortuous affair that leaves you feeling totally burned out and frustrated. ProShow, on the other hand, is really simple to get good results so the "instant gratification" factor is high. And unlike one of the reviewer's comments, I've never had trouble burning CD's, DVD's, making any type of video file, or publishing to the web.
